Highlights from our internal hackathon
This autumn, our team in Georgia took part in an exciting internal hackathon that brought together curious minds, creative ideas, and a shared passion for innovation. The hackathon was designed to encourage employees to experiment with AI technologies, turn bold concepts into working prototypes, and collaborate closely. With strong support from leadership, the event became a true celebration of creativity and teamwork. Leaders contributed to shaping the judging criteria, overall format, and participant experience, ensuring the hackathon was both challenging and rewarding.
Sparking the innovation
The hackathon kicked off in mid-September and ran for two intense and productive weeks. During this time, the participants formed teams and developed a wide variety of ideas. Projects ranged from AI-powered assistants and productivity tools to creative features designed to enhance everyday workflows.
After weeks of collaboration, teams presented their projects during live demo sessions. The level of creativity and technical skill made it especially challenging for the judges to select the projects that would advance to the final stage.
Mentoring and collaboration
Throughout the hackathon, each team received support from a dedicated mentor who helped refine ideas, improve prototypes, and prepare for presentations. The judging panel, made up of senior leaders and technology experts, evaluated projects based on innovation, feasibility, and potential impact.
The grand finale
The final showcase took place in the beginning of November. The atmosphere in the Georgia office was festive and full of excitement, with colleagues gathering to support the finalist teams, enjoy snacks, and celebrate the hard work behind each project.
At the end of the event, the winning teams were announced. The top three projects were recognized for their creativity, technical excellence, and real-world impact. In addition, one team received the People’s Choice award, while another was honored with a special leadership prize for an especially innovative solution.
Looking ahead
The hackathon clearly demonstrated the depth of talent, creativity, and enthusiasm within our Georgia team. It showed how combining AI, collaboration, and a willingness to experiment can lead to meaningful innovation — while also being a lot of fun. We’re excited to see how these ideas continue to grow and evolve, and how they may shape the way we work in the future.
